ATV Camping

ATV camping is like any other tent or primitive camping experience except instead of loading your camping gear and supplies into a backpack or full-size vehicle, you load it onto the racks of a utility 4x4 ATV and take off to some remote, uncrowded campsite. A utility 4x4 ATV can cover rough terrain quickly and easily, plus they are just fun to ride. A properly equipped utility 4x4 ATV can easily carry 100 pounds of camping gear and supplies which is more than enough for a couple of days camping at a remote campsite. With a full-size vehicle some of these remote campsite are not possible to get to or would take a long time and endure wear and tear on the vehicle. Backpacking or mountain biking to these locations also would take a long time and there is only so much you can put into a backpack.

Along with camping gear and supplies one could also carry fishing and/or hunting gear. Like backpacking size and weight are concerns, except with an ATV there is more capacity for extra fuel, camping furniture, coolers, cookware, stoves, etc. The proper selection of camping gear, supplies and effective loading ensures an enjoyable and trouble free camping adventure. ATV camping also means getting to the campsite with plenty of time to get camp setup and still have time for more riding, hiking, fishing, or just relaxing comfortably in an uncrowded environment. So if you enjoy ATVing and tent camping but don't like the stress of trying to find a campsite in a crowded campgrounds or having to reserve a campsite then give ATV camping a try with friends and family. Forget about disturbing others and recognize the true privacy of a remote ATV camping adventure.
